The Skinny on Winter Skincare

We caught up with, Instructional Designer & Beauty/Lifestyle Blogger,  Anjali Handa to get the skinny on skin care this winter season!

Ladies, a mild winter is no excuse to cheat your skin of the TLC it deserves!

Especially if you’re walking the aisle this year, now is the perfect time to be diligent with your routine to ensure you have the glow you deserve on your big day.  Here are a few pointers to get started:

Drink plenty of water. Drinking 6-8 glasses of water everyday is the perfect recipe for clear and hydrated skin.  If the winter months have you yearning for a steaming hot chocolate, try switching to an herbal tea – you’ll increase your water intake while still warming up to a yummy treat!

Exfoliate regularly.  Winter is not the best season for glowing skin.  In fact, it’s the opposite.  The colder weather and lack of moisture can cause dryness and (sometimes) irritated skin.  Counter the dullness by using a gentle exfoliator up to 2- 3 times a week – it will clear dead skin cells away and keep your face healthy and fresh.

Use sunscreen.  Yes, even in the winter.  Although you cannot see the sun, harmful UV rays are still making their way down to us.  Remember to apply an SPF solution to your face at least 15-20 minutes before heading outside.

Stop licking. Your lips that is!  With the added dryness, it’s tempting to constantly lick or bite on your lips to keep them smooth.

Unfortunately this only makes the problem worse.  Be sure to carry a moisturizing lip balm with natural ingredients.  Apply when dry and you’ll see lasting smoothness rather than a temporary fix.

When you’re at the Kismet Wedding Show this weekend, be sure to stop by the Pari Beauty and Vasanti Cosmetics booths.  Pari Beauty’s Lip Shines contain Vitamin E to help soften and condition lips while Vasanti’s Brighten Up! Face Rejuvenator will help you battle the dryness in just days.

It’s all in your control – take beauty action now for a brighter glow on your big day!
